ABC Solar is a leading South African distributor of Huawei Fusionsolar energy products. It is trusted by South African renewable energy industry players to help them meet their clients’ unique energy needs while maintaining a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
One of its installer partners is Bright Light –a registered member of the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA). Bright Light prides itself on only offering best-of-breed, Tier 1 equipment, and extensive panel and inverter warranties. It was a no-brainer for Bright Light to choose ABC Solar and its Huawei Fusionsolar products as a core part of its business.
Serving community schemes
Bright Light focuses on installing solar systems for community schemes because sectional titles are the fastest-growing property sector in the country.
Additionally, approximately 1.8 million South Africans live in community schemes – showing the sheer scale of this sector.
To ensure it delivers the best possible solutions to its community scheme clients, Bright Light collaborates closely with them to determine their specific needs. There are several challenges that most body corporates identify when it comes to the solutions they require:
- Size – There is not usually lots of free space for a cumbersome solution.
- Safe – Body corporates cannot support solutions that put residents at risk.
- Affordability – The solution must be well-priced to justify its installation.
- Longevity – The solution must have a long lifespan to justify the investment.
Bright Light has identified that the Huawei Fusionsolar Luna Series C&I Category BESS System, supplied by ABC Solar, is the best solution for many of these clients.
Huawei Fusionsolar Luna Series C&I Category BESS System
There are two Luna options offered by ABC Solar and Bright Light in South Africa – a LUNA 200KWH option and a LUNA 2MWH model. The entire LUNA 200KWH system is 2.6m long, 2.2m wide, and 1.2m high, while the larger LUNA 2MWH model is 6m long, 2.9m wide, and 2.5m high.
“Huawei’s compact products offer a practical solution for implementing renewable energy solutions, requiring significantly less space compared to conventional alternatives,”said Bright Light Director Michael Faber. With the more powerful LUNA 2MWH version, you can achieve a maximum DC voltage of 1,500V and a nominal energy capacity of up to 2,032kWh.
This is thanks to the system’s six batteries that offer up to 338.7kW each.
The LUNA 200KWH model offers up to 193.5kWh capacity and a power rating of 100kW – which is more than enough for smaller community schemes, like a block of 20 flats.
Safety
The LUNA Series C&I Category also boasts many safety features, including Smart Air Cooling, Perfluorohexane fire suppression, and an IP55 resistance certification. It also has numerous safety and electrical IEC certifications, and can operate in any humidity levels at temperatures ranging from -30 to 55 degrees Celsius. “The Huawei products have provided comfort to our customers that such a reputable brand is being implemented,” said Faber.
“In addition, the safety features of the products ensure that people and property are safe.”
